Introduction
To lead and coordinate the execution of mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship.
Job description
•Lead and supervise maintenance fitters on a daily basis.
•Review daily work orders to identify required resources, estimate labour, materials, and downtime.
•Support Assistant Engineers by following up on ongoing jobs to ensure timely execution and to resolve
challenges.
•Conduct over-inspections of completed work to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
•Address urgent maintenance needs and assist in troubleshooting engineering issues.
•Take ownership of breakdown situations and coordinate rapid response.
•Track work order backlog, prioritise tasks and monitor completion status.
Minimum requirements
•Matric/Grade 12.
•Minimum – Mechanical Fitter or equivalent Trade Tested.
•Preferably - N6 Mechanical Engineering.
•8 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, preferable paper or similar heavy industry.
•Supervisory experience advantageous.
•Knowledge and experience on CMMS preferably JDE.
•Planning and scheduling experience advantageous.
