Introduction
To lead the mill’s process engineering, automation, optimization and capital projects across all areas (paper machines, RCF, CHP, boilers, utilities and related systems).
Job description
- Lead process optimisation initiatives across paper machines, stock preparation, RCF plant, CHP plant, boiler operations, utilities, and auxiliary systems.
- Develop and sustain manufacturing processes to meet production, quality, throughput, cost, and customer requirements.
- Monitor and analyse plant performance, process efficiency, water usage, steam consumption, energy balances, and environmental performance.
- Organise and execute process trials.
- Develop long-term strategic plans relating to process optimisation, utilities, energy efficiency, water supply, and environmental compliance.
- Manage and execute capital projects, process modifications, and improvement initiatives from concept through commissioning.
Minimum requirements
- BSC Chem Eng/National Diploma.
- 10 years’ experience in the paper industry, including 5 years in papermaking process engineering and/or project management.
- Strong understanding of paper manufacturing processes, utilities, steam systems, CHP operations, boilers, and recycled fibre processing.
- Knowledge of mass and energy balances, process control systems, and engineering design principles.
- Experience in CAPEX budgeting and project management.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) systems
- Good computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook).
