Introduction
To repair, manufacture, assemble and refurbish equipment used throughout the papermill, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of quality, reliability and precision.
Job description
•Overhaul, inspect, repair and assemble plant equipment.
•Diagnose equipment failures and identify the root cause of wear or damage.
•Manufacture components using machine tools, including center lathes and milling machines.
•Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and machining requirements.
•Measure, inspect and verify machined and assembled components using precision measuring equipment.
•Understand the application and installation requirements of rolling element bearings.
•Install and inspect mechanical seals, gland packing, labyrinth seals and other sealing arrangements.
•Perform final quality inspections before equipment is released for installation.
•Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.
•Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, lockout/tagout , and permit-to-work systems.
•Follow all company policies, procedures, and engineering standards.
Minimum requirements
•Minimum Grade 12.
•Red Seal Fitter and Turner.
•Minimum 5 years post trade experience in a heavy industrial environment.
•Proven experience overhauling rotating equipment.
•Extensive experience operating conventional lathes and milling machines.
