Introduction
Neopak is offering an opportunity for an individual to join our Finance Team as a Financial Accountant. The main purpose of this role will be to maintain financial records and reports, perform account reconciliations, assisting with budget processes, perform analysis e.g. expense and other variance analysis, insurance and tax: preparing returns and submissions. the successful candidate will assist the Finance Departments in interacting with internal departments, 3rd parties' insurance providers, Banks, providers of funding and SARS Auditors.
Job description

Accounting:
  • Supporting month-end and year end close process.
  • Manage all accouting processes including, fixed assets, revenue recognition.
  • Preparing annual financial reports and disclosure schedules.
  • Expense analysis and other financial data analysis when required.
  • Assist with stock counts.
  • Payroll reconciliations and accounting journals.
  • Journal preparation and processing.
  • Monthly general ledger account maintenance and reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset register, WIP account and ensure IFRS compliance and reporting.
  • Lease accounting in compliance with IFRS.
Financial reporting:
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for all entities in the group.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Cash and bank:
  • Bank signatory - review and release of local and foreign payments, payroll payments.
  • Maintain loan schedules and related eporting.
  • Responsible for reconxiling quarterly shareholder loan confirmations.
Forecast and budgets:
  • Participating in forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Prepare budget analysis and reports.
Taxes:
  • Preparation of tax returns.
  • Submission of all returns related to tax e.e. VAT, Income tax, payroll taxes, witholding tax, carbon tax.
  • Ensure compliance to SARS deadlines and requirements.
General:
  • Coordinate and actively participate in audit processes.
  • Responsible for annual insurance risk declarations.
  • Managing finance risks, research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field.
  • At least 8 years' experience in accounting or articles required.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (JDE essential, QLIKVIEW).
  • Above average excel skills (including financial modeling, formulas, analysis).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous.
